报告人简介:Kent Harries, PhD, FACI, FIIFC, PEng, is the Bicentennial Board of Visitors Faculty Fellow and an Associate Professor of Structural Engineering and Mechanics at the University of Pittsburgh, USA. He has conducted extensive research on fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) materials, full-culm bamboo and the characterisation of bamboo materials. Harries is chair of ACI Committee 440F – FRP Repair and serves on ASCE FCAPS and ASTM D30. Harries is a member of the US Technical Advisory Group to ISO TC-165 and an Expert Member of the INBAR Task Group on Bamboo Construction. Dr. Harries received his doctorate from McGill University in the field of seismic design of high-rise structures, He is the author of over 230 peer-reviewed technical articles, is Senior Editor of the Journal of Construction and Building Materials and Editor of FRP International. He coedited the book Nonconventional and Vernacular Construction Materials: Characterisation, Properties and Applications. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario, Canada

内容简介:Although significant efforts are underway worldwide to develop reliable standards for the design of glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) pultruded structural members, there remain a number of important gaps in the knowledge and understanding of the behaviour of these members. This presentation summarises recent advances made related to both local (web and flange buckling) and global (Euler and lateral torsional buckling) behavior of such members. Experimental and analytical investigations are reported and are contrasted with current and proposed design standards. Issues of local-global buckling interaction and the impact of creep are highlighted.
